It has been an amazing year for us at Grasshopper Greens!
We started out not knowing if our little agricultural venture was going to take off, plod along, or wither away. Like any new venture, the unknowns appeared too numerous to count, but we kept going.
Why did we keep going?
Because we met so many wonderful people who are as enthused about our yummy microgreens as we are. Many stopped to talk, some stopped to buy, and most of the buyers kept coming back! We knew we were on to something.
What does the future hold?
We do not know. After much thought and discussion, we have decided that in order to make room for some new adventures in our lives, Grasshopper Greens has to fold.
We have some Microgreen growing equipment for sale. Not all of it to be sure, since we enjoy them at our own table regularly. In the next week or so we will put up a page of items for sale.
As most of our customers are aware, we encourage the re-use or recycling of the plastic containers we have been using to package our yummy microgreens. And we thank all of you who have been doing just this!
Still, we felt bad every time another piece of plastic was released into the wild.
Starting this week, we will be sending your nutritious microgreens home with you in compostable, biodegradable paper containers! Simply keep them closed in your refrigerator, and they will keep up to 10 days.
Of course we encourage you to partake of the tasty contents long before they migrate to the back of your frigid-aire!
That’s right, you heard it here first!
Tasty microgreens available twice.
Tho your supply you may have nursed,
back to back markets sure will be nice!
We will be at the Grandin Village Farmers Market June 30th and July 7th so you don’t have to run out of the most nutritious microgreens over the holiday week.
Merlin says you should stock up!
Check these babies out! Leeks. They go so well with so many different foods, from the standard sandwich (except maybe peanut butter and banana), in your burrito, and especially an omelette.
I have only 2 words that are not even adequate to describe what I think of them – Yummy Kins!
Try them and see
if you’d agree.
Leeks are tasty
for more you’ll plea!
We are trying a new market this Friday! We will be at the Roanoke Market on Market Street in Roanoke. As you know, we are an Urban Farm and the decision to do this market is based in part on the fact that it is within walking distance of our farm, and we are always trying to reduce our carbon footprint.
This is where the Market is!
If you want some of our nutritious tasty microgreens, but cannot make it on Friday, we can meet you in Roanoke Saturday morning at 9:30, as long as we know what to bring. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday evening with your desires and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
This very Saturday, just 2 days away, we will be at the Grandin Village Farmers Market. I know, I know, but you really do have to wait two whole days to see us there. We are looking forward to seeing !
Make sure to come this Saturday to the Greenbrier Farm to Table market to pick up your yummy Pure Microgreens from Grasshopper Greens!
But where is the Greenbrier Farm to Table market?
We will be at the Grandin Village Farmers Market this coming Saturday, May 5th!
Handy hint – our microgreens are a healthy and flavorful addition to your favorite Mexican dish.
See you there!
Yes indeed its that time already! Saturday we will be at the Farm to Table market at Greenbriar Nursery to provide you with the tastiest, most nutritious microgreens found in the Roanoke area!
“But Dave, where is that?” I’m so glad you asked! 5881 Starkey Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018 is the address. Google yourself up a map, put it in your GPS, dust off that old paper map, but do navigate yourself on down!
We can’t wait to see you there!
We are truly sorry that we have been unable to be at our regular markets recently.
Kim had a sudden illness resulting in surgery so our focus was on getting her all taken care of so we can continue to provide you with the freshest tastiest most nutritious microgreens to be found in the Roanoke area.
As I write this Kim is industriously cutting up mats so we can plant tomorrow for our next market.
But Dave, when will that be? You may be wondering just that, and I am happy to provide you with the answer!
Our next public appearance will be at the Grandin Village Farmers Market on April 21. We are really excited to be moving outdoors and be a part of the market. We will alternate weeks between the Grandin Village Farmers Market and the Greenbriar Saturday Farmers market.
We look forward to seeing YOU there!
